Grandma is pissed.
Spending 60 minutes talking to Senator Pauline Hanson opened my eyes a little further again.
Generationally - we are a mile apart and this was glaringly obvious in her assessment of Gen Z and their work ethic. I give the kids a break - Pauline has zero empathy.
But - you’re all going to vote for her anyway and if the worst thing that ever happened was we ended up with a pissed off grandma pulling the levers for a while - I’m sure that’s better than the slop currently being offered up by the una-party.
Check out my conversation with the Senator here.

Scott, I addressed the generational divide in my recent article "How the People Were Really Lost", which is a response to Dennis Shanahan's piece in The Australian. I assert that this exact conversation is now happening between grandkids, parents, and grandparents all over the country, and what grandparents are learning is exactly what you just explained to Pauline — that the fundamental economic circumstance is profoundly different.
My daughter is studying and working in Brisbane and we just experienced the worst of the property crisis. She was almost about to defer her second year of university or change universities entirely because she literally had nowhere to live, for love nor money. My Mum, Grandma, understands clearly — and yes, she is pissed.
I assert there is a new generational convergence happening that is part of this undeniable trend to One Nation. Grandmas all over this country are coming to understand what has happened to their legacy. Pissed off puts it lightly. https://open.substack.com/pub/markostwald/p/how-the-people-were-really-lost?r=3m3gqt&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
